About the Role:

We are looking for a Senior Technical Project Manager – Data Engineering to lead critical, large-scale data engineering and analytics initiatives for a leading AI and analytics organization.

This is not a traditional Project Manager role. The ideal candidate will have strong experience managing Data Engineering teams and projects, along with a solid understanding of Azure Data Platform and Databricks.

You will work closely with Data Engineers, Technical Leads, Architects, Product Owners, business leaders, and senior executives to ensure successful delivery of complex data initiatives.

What You'll Do

• Lead end-to-end delivery of Data Engineering, Analytics, and Data Platform projects
• Manage project scope, timelines, budgets, resources, risks, dependencies, and deliverables
• Lead and support Data Engineers and Technical Leads
• Coordinate multiple projects and distributed technical teams
• Partner with business and technology leaders to define priorities and delivery roadmaps
• Translate business requirements into clear execution plans
• Monitor project progress, resolve issues, and communicate status to senior leadership
• Ensure data platforms meet quality, security, governance, and compliance standards
• Support data platform modernization, migration, analytics, and AI/ML initiatives
• Drive Agile/Scrum, DevOps, and continuous improvement practices

What We're Looking For

Must Have:

• 10+ years of IT experience
• 5+ years in Technical Project/Delivery Management
• Strong experience leading Data Engineering projects & teams
• Hands-on project experience with Azure Databricks
• Strong understanding of Azure Data Factory (ADF), PySpark & SQL
• Knowledge of Data Lake/Lakehouse architecture
• Excellent stakeholder & executive communication skills

Nice to Have

• Experience with enterprise-wide data platform modernization or migration
• Agile/Scrum and DevOps experience
• Experience supporting AI/ML and advanced analytics initiatives
• PMP, Agile, Azure, or Databricks certification
