Build the Platform Behind Next-Generation Training Technology

An innovative technology company developing advanced simulation and training solutions is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to help build and operate a greenfield platform supporting distributed, edge-based systems deployed around the world.

This is not a traditional cloud engineering position.

The platform powers systems operating in environments where connectivity cannot be assumed. Customer sites may operate offline for days or weeks at a time while continuing to generate critical training data. When connectivity returns, information must synchronize reliably, updates must deploy safely, and systems must continue operating without interruption.

Working directly with the Chief Architect, you'll help transform architectural vision into production-ready software and infrastructure while taking ownership of core platform capabilities.

What You'll Do

  • Build and operate distributed backend systems in production
  • Develop synchronization services that support disconnected and eventually consistent environments
  • Design and maintain fleet management capabilities across distributed endpoints
  • Develop backend services and data models using C# and .NET
  • Build CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment workflows
  • Implement offline authentication and local credential management solutions
  • Support software delivery across multiple deployment environments, including cloud and customer-hosted infrastructure
  • Create telemetry, monitoring, and observability capabilities across the platform
  • Collaborate closely with architecture, product, and engineering leadership

Required Experience

  • 7+ years of platform, backend, or software engineering experience
  • Strong C# and .NET development background
  • Experience building and operating distributed systems in production
  • Expertise with containerization and Kubernetes
  • Hands-on experience with Azure cloud technologies
  • Azure Arc, Arc-enabled Kubernetes, and Azure Local experience
  • Experience supporting offline-first or eventually consistent architectures
  • CI/CD ownership and deployment automation experience
  • Background working with synchronization services and distributed endpoints
  • U.S. Citizenship and ability to successfully complete a background check

Preferred Experience

  • Azure Government, sovereign cloud, or highly regulated environments
  • Edge computing or Industrial IoT platforms
  • Air-gapped or disconnected deployment environments
  • GitOps, Helm, ArgoCD, or Flux
  • OTA update and rollback strategies
  • CRDTs or advanced synchronization technologies
  • Large-scale endpoint or device fleet management
  • Supply chain security, SBOMs, and signed artifacts
  • Agentic development tools and AI-assisted engineering workflows

Why Join?

  • Greenfield product development with no legacy technical debt
  • Direct partnership with senior engineering leadership
  • High-impact role with broad technical ownership
  • Opportunity to help define a modern, scalable platform from the ground up
  • Mission-driven technology supporting critical training environments
