Director of Sales And Marketing
Indexed description
NATURE OF WORK
Bratney runs on the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS). The Director of Sales & Marketing owns the Sales & Marketing seat on our leadership team and is accountable for hitting our annual sales goals.
This role leads our sales territory managers, equipment product sales managers, and marketing partners to generate leads and close opportunities.
You'll also set marketing strategy, drive maximization of our CRM, and use data to sharpen how we sell. Above all, this role builds a culture of accountability, collaboration, and consistency — the EOS way.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Set annual sales targets and goals by territory, industry, and product line, and build the plan to hit them.
- Lead, coach, and hold accountable a sales and marketing team of 15+, with a strong focus on training and growth.
- Design sales territories that give Bratney strong coverage across all key markets.
- Drive full adoption of HubSpot (or comparable CRM) across the team — clean data, standard playbooks, and dashboards that produce clear, actionable insight.
- Own Bratney's brand and marketing strategy, making sure customers understand our full range of equipment, projects, engineering, fabrication, and after-sales service.
- Build and execute integrated sales and marketing plans that grow revenue and pipeline while protecting profitability.
- Keep sales and marketing activity aligned with company policy and process.
- Align cross-functional teams around shared priorities, clear communication, and smart use of people and budget.
KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES / SKILLS
- Strong CRM skills. You've worked deeply in HubSpot, Salesforce, or a similar system — building playbooks, automating dashboards, and turning data into decisions.
- 5+ years selling long-lead-time capital equipment (6+ month sales cycles, $50,000+ per unit) in a business-to-business setting — not sales through distributors.
- Product management experience in equipment sales is strongly preferred. We are looking for someone who has shaped the product offering, pricing, and go-to-market strategy—not solely sold the equipment.
- Proven leadership coaching and directly managing teams of 10 or more.
- A track record of negotiating long-term contracts.
- Experience building marketing strategy for an established brand, with real results in market capture and revenue growth.
- Success leading cross-discipline teams and aligning outside partners around a shared goal.
- Experience working with international manufacturers or suppliers is a plus.
- Comfortable in industrial settings like grain mills and food processing plants; able to travel up to 30%, including some overnight travel.
- Strong PC skills, including Excel, CRM software, and Outlook.
EDUCATION & OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree preferred in business, sales, marketing, or a related field. Or a Technical degree with an MBA.
- 7-10 years of sales management experience leading medium-sized, geographically spread teams.
- A background in agriculture, seed, grain, milling, food production, packaging, or consumer products is a plus.
