National Account Manager – Hardware (Bunnings)
About the Role
This role is 100% focused on Bunnings, with responsibility for the hardware categories.
We are looking for a commercially driven National Account Manager who can take ownership of the hardware range within Bunnings and deliver results.
This is not a traditional account management role — the focus is on:
- Improving the existing hardware range
- Winning ranging within the category
- Growing category performance
- Delivering strong in-store execution
You will work alongside other account management resources across different categories, with clear ownership of hardware.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and grow the hardware categories within the Bunnings account
- Improve and optimise the existing hardware range to drive better category performance
- Lead range reviews, submissions, and tender opportunities within hardware
- Drive category growth through data-led insights and commercial decision-making
- Own the end-to-end implementation of new hardware products
- Work closely with the field team to ensure strong in-store execution and compliance
- Manage pricing, promotions, and margin performance within the category
- Build strong relationships with Bunnings buyers and stakeholders across hardware
Qualifications & ExperienceEssential
- Proven experience as a National or Key Account Manager
- Direct experience managing Bunnings or a similar major retail account
- Background in hardware, electrical, building, or trade-related categories
- Demonstrated success in winning ranging and growing categories
- Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills
- Highly organised and able to operate in a fast-paced environment
Preferred
- Existing relationships within Bunnings hardware categories
- Experience launching new products into major retail
- Experience working with field sales or merchandising teams
- Strong understanding of in-store execution and planograms
