About the opportunity

We're partnering with a global, publicly listed biotech renowned for pioneering precision antibody therapeutics, on a newly created and highly strategic role: Biomarker Biostatistics Lead. This is a genuinely hands-on position for a statistician who wants their analytical work to sit at the centre of a company where biomarkers directly shape how development decisions get made — with real scope to also influence strategy along the way..

The role

You'll be a practising statistician first — designing, running, and interpreting biomarker analyses yourself — while also acting as the critical link between scientific questions and quantitative answers across the organisation. This isn't a role where the technical work is handed off; you'll be in the data, applying appropriate statistical methods to biomarker and biological questions, while also shaping the broader statistical strategy behind them.

You'll work across the full development spectrum — from early discovery through late-phase clinical development — with a particular focus on the development side and on "reverse translation": connecting clinical findings back to discovery insight to sharpen future research questions.

What you'll do

• Independently design and conduct statistical analyses of biomarker data, from discovery through clinical development
• Partner directly with scientists, clinicians, and cross-functional teams to translate biological questions into robust statistical approaches
• Apply and adapt statistical methods to biomarker-specific challenges — assay qualification, biomarker validation, cut-point studies, and beyond
• Contribute to broader biomarker and development strategy, using your hands-on analytical work as the evidence base for wider decisions
• Communicate findings clearly across scientific and statistical audiences, influencing how biomarker data is used in programme decision-making

What we're looking for

• Formal training and strong, demonstrable experience in biostatistics — deep statistical knowledge is essential
• Genuine interest and hands-on experience in biomarkers, paired with curiosity about the underlying biology
• Comfortable and confident coding independently (R and/or SAS) — this is an execution-capable role, not purely an oversight one
• Experience spanning both discovery and development environments
• Background in non-clinical statistics as well as clinical trial contribution
• Pharma or biotech industry experience

Nice to have

• Immunology background is a strong plus
• Broad, transferable therapeutic area experience (highly oncology-specific profiles may be less transferable to this role)
