Senior Power BI Developer / Business Analyst

6 Month Contract | Perth | Hybrid | $100–$120 per hour

We are seeking an experienced Senior Power BI Developer / Business Analyst to join an enterprise client on an initial six-month contract.

This is a key role combining advanced Power BI development with strong Business Analysis and stakeholder engagement skills. You will work directly with senior management to understand business and reporting requirements and lead the delivery of robust, standardised Power BI reporting solutions.

About the Role

You will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of Power BI reporting solutions, from gathering and defining requirements through to development and implementation.

Working within an established enterprise environment, you will act as a trusted and consultative advisor to the business, helping stakeholders translate their reporting needs into effective data solutions while ensuring all deliverables align with established standards and governance frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

• Engage directly with senior management to elicit, define and document business and reporting requirements.
• Lead the end-to-end design, development and implementation of Power BI dashboards and reports.
• Develop and manage Power BI Dataflows using data from an established enterprise data warehouse.
• Apply advanced DAX and Power Query to develop robust and effective reporting solutions.
• Ensure all reporting solutions comply with established templates, standards and governance frameworks.
• Work closely with business stakeholders to understand their requirements and translate them into practical technical solutions.
• Provide confident, consultative advice to stakeholders and challenge assumptions where appropriate.
• Bridge the gap between business requirements and technical delivery within a structured enterprise environment.
• Ensure reporting solutions are consistent, scalable and aligned with business objectives.

Skills & Experience

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Strong senior-level Power BI development experience.
• Advanced capability in DAX, Power Query and Power BI Dataflows.
• A strong Business Analysis background, particularly in requirements gathering and stakeholder management.
• Demonstrated experience engaging directly with senior and executive-level stakeholders.
• Experience consuming and working with data from enterprise data warehouses.
• An understanding of Azure and/or Databricks environments would be advantageous.
• A highly consultative approach, with the confidence to challenge requirements and recommend best-practice solutions.
• Experience delivering reporting solutions within strict enterprise governance, standards and formatting requirements.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical and data concepts into clear business outcomes.
• The ability to work independently and effectively within a structured consulting environment.

Contract Details

Contract: 6 months initially

Rate: $100–$110 per hour

Location: Perth, WA

Working Arrangement: Hybrid
