Summer Intern 2027: Data Scientist

Are you interested in working on software with real-world impacts? At Monil we do data science that improve the lives of both farmers and animals. We solve hard problems and work with large amounts of data, all with the goal of improving animal welfare and farmers' productivity.

As a summer intern in Monil, you'll get to work on interesting problems where you'll have to use your own imagination and creativity in order to find good solutions to technical challenges. You'll work in collaboration with our experienced team of engineers, as well as with other departments, creating impactful solutions to actual problems.

The data science team

Monil's data science team is responsible for our device and customer data platforms, ML/statistical models deployed both on devices and in the cloud, dashboards for fleet monitoring, and ad-hoc analyses to shape product development. We process large amounts of data using PostgreSQL, TimescaleDB, and dbt, and write Python and SQL for our analysis needs, as well as Python, SQL, and C to embed models on-device. Our models are containerized with Docker and deployed using Kubernetes.

About The Job

Monil aims to be the world's leading digital shepherd. We get millions of datapoints from the animals each day and there are endless possibilities for how we can utilise the data. You will work closely with the data science team to develop algorithms and machine learning models that enhance the product and deliver valuable insights to farmers.

The internship will begin in June, with the exact start date to be agreed upon. It will last for 6-8 weeks. The application deadline is September 13th.
