Role? Experienced Data Scientist joining our Department of AI to develop, experiment with, and build machine learning and AI systems that provide new user experiences and business model innovation, in collaboration with our vertical teams.

WHO ARE YOU?

• You are experienced in Data Science & Machine Learning: You have strong fundamental knowledge of machine learning algorithms and AI, with practical experience in building models and creating scalable solutions.
• You use LLMs in your Data Science practice: pipelines, one-shot classification, extracting structured data from unstructured sources, LLM-as-a-judge are familiar patterns for you.
• You are innovative and collaborative, and can apply Data Science principles and techniques to create novel products and business models within cross-functional teams.
• You are flexible and comfortable with change.

Day-to-day work & projects cooking

• The Data Scientists in our Department of AI (dAI) collaborate in cross-functional, temporary teams with AI, design, product, engineering, and business experts to create agentic and AI-native products for our marketplaces.
• Data Science is an integral and essential part of our AI-native product development
• Our current projects include Finn Søkelys - an AI-based job matching system that removes the job listing and application from the process; a chat-based discovery experience for people looking for new places to live; and actionable recommendations for car dealers.
• We also offer some courses and workshops on Data Science for other employees, mainly engineers, in Vend. In our last courses, we developed our own materials from scratch on NLP, Deep Learning, LLMs behind the scenes, Computer Vision, and more.

How do we make agentic products work well for users and customers? Which surfaces and problems are AI systems best equipped to solve? What new business opportunities have we neglected, because they were not technologically possible before?

The work we do here is far from trivial, which means that you have an opportunity to do your best work and create something new and amazing.

Hi, I’m Vilde, and I manage the Data Science team in dAI. The team consists of 5 Data Scientists, including you, who work alone or in pairs in projects to develop AI-native products for our marketplaces. We come together to discuss approaches and applications, and we develop Data Science courses and workshops for other people in the company. We are looked up to as experts, and expected to stay on top of AI developments and how to apply them effectively. Something exciting about us is that we love change, and we follow the biggest opportunities. Data Science is an important and strategic capability for Vend.
