Overview
General Mills, Digital and Technology India, is seeking a Data Scientist II to join the Data Science team. Data Scientists within our team are dedicated to build enterprise intelligent automations and enable ML solutions on various use cases including but not limited to demand forecasting, text classification, operational analytics, logistics optimization, price optimization, ecommerce, and market mix modelling. They are also responsible for curating a community of practice to determine the best standards and practices around data science at General Mills.
Key Accountabilities
- Develop novel ways to help business partners achieve objectives through analysis & modelling
- Think outside the box to identify & test new sources of information that unlock new business value
- Explore, curate and connect external data sets for broad enterprise-wide analytic usage
- Engineer features by using your business acumen to bin, aggregate, pivot or encode data for optimal results
- Utilize machine learning models to create repeatable, dynamic & scalable models
- Be a storyteller to explain the ‘why & how’ of your data driven recommendations to cross-functional teams
- Be a part of the team, collaborate, ask questions, engage and solicit feedback from other Data Scientists
- Collaborates with technical teams like development and infrastructure.
- Able to explore, troubleshoot on niche technologies and provide automation solutions.
- Have passion to advocate and educate on the value and importance of data driven decision making & analytical methods
- Identify and develop long-term data science processes, frameworks, tools, and standards
- Be a part of innovation team to partner in developing accelerators and Agentic solutions for Data Science team productivity.
- Minimum qualification- Bachelor's in Technology/ Engineering/Science.
- Total analytics experience required 4-6 Years.
- Experience with supervised machine learning models.
- Experience working with an Agile development methodology featuring sprints, point estimation and daily stand-ups.
- Technical understanding of cloud platforms and ability to utilize data from a variety of data sources like big query, flat files, cloud storage.
- Strong attention to detail & accuracy.
- Good collaboration skills and ability to communicate insights through clear, simple stories.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Expert level understanding -Python, Exploratory data analysis, Inferential Statistics.
- Any Two Must Have -Predictive Modeling, Forecasting, Market Mix Modeling, Bayesian, Linear Optimization, Network Optimization.
- Intermediate Level Understanding - R & SQL. Any Cloud platform. Preferred: Google Cloud Platform – Vertex AI, BQ, Composer).
- Basic Level Understanding - Tableau, Looker, Deep Learning
- Knowledge and usage of Agentic / Generative tools
