PE Global is currently recruiting for an experienced Supply Chain Data Scientist to join our manufacturing client based in Desford, Leicester. The role is an initial 12-month contract with the possibility of extension, and the rate for this role is £23.00 p/hour PAYE or £31.50 p/hour Umbrella.


Key Responsibilities


  • Analyse complex supply chain datasets across areas including packaging, supply chain planning, purchasing, material planning and transportation.
  • Identify data gaps and opportunities and translate complex data into meaningful business insights.
  • Develop automated solutions to improve supply chain processes, including the automation of PFEP (Plan for Every Part) activities.
  • Bring together data from multiple functions and systems to improve visibility and support data-driven decision-making.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards, reports and data visualisations using Power BI.
  • Use Python, SQL, Power Query and other coding languages to manipulate and analyse data and improve reporting capabilities.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to understand business requirements and identify continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Support supply chain planning and cross-functional projects across packaging, logistics and transportation.
  • Support the transition to a new ERP system over the next 12 months, with the opportunity to take a lead role in reviewing and improving processes.
  • Develop analytical solutions that highlight gaps, inefficiencies and opportunities across the supply chain.


Requirements


  • Approximately 5 years' experience working in a similar data-focused discipline, ideally within an organisation handling large and complex datasets.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills are essential.
  • Experience with coding languages, with Python and SQL highly desirable.
  • Intermediate Power BI experience, including developing dashboards and data visualisations.
  • Strong Power Query experience.
  • Experience working with SAP, ERP or MRP systems would be advantageous.
  • Ability to gather, manipulate, interpret and analyse complex data.
  • Experience developing or working with databases.
  • Supply chain experience is highly desirable, particularly within manufacturing, logistics, packaging or planning environments.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of your area of responsibility.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to translate technical information into practical business insights.
  • Project management or continuous improvement experience would be advantageous.


Working Pattern: Initially 08:00–16:00, with flexibility within reason. The role is primarily onsite, with some flexibility to work from home once established in the position.

Interview Process: One-stage interview, with candidates required to prepare a 10-minute presentation consisting of 5 slides on a project they have previously worked on.
