Senior Data Scientist

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Data Scientist to join our Data Team at Zalopay. In this role, you will lead end-to-end ML solutions, optimize data pipelines, and apply modern AI/ML methodologies to solve core business problems.

What You’ll Do

• Design and engineer robust features from high-dimensional data to maximize model predictive power.
• Develop, deploy, and monitor high-scale predictive scoring and deep learning representation models across downstream systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product, Data, Platform Engineers,...) to optimize ML pipelines for low latency, automate drift monitoring, and integrate reusable features into the centralized feature store.
• Evaluate and adopt modern AI/ML techniques and tooling to solve practical business challenges.
• Foster a culture of ownership and continuous improvement through technical mentorship and engineering standards.

What We’re Looking For

• Master’s/PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or equivalent practical experience.
• 4 - 8+ years of hands-on experience building and deploying machine learning solutions on large-scale production data.
• Strong foundation in ML System Design, statistics, and core machine learning principles (familiarity with NLP is a plus).
• Proficient in Python, distributed computing, large-scale data processing engines, advanced SQL and deep learning frameworks (PyTorch/TensorFlow).
• Experience in Credit Scoring / Credit Risk modeling, especially in lending, fintech, banking, or financial services.
• Self-directed and adaptable, with a strong ability to navigate complex architectures, and drive projects end-to-end.
