Job Description Summary

Under the direction of the Manager, Supply Chain Contracting, the Senior Supply Chain Analyst serves as a strategic business partner supporting contracting, sourcing, value analysis, utilization management, and supply chain optimization initiatives across the health system. This role leverages data analytics, financial analysis, supply utilization insights, and market intelligence to identify opportunities for cost reduction, standardization, quality improvement, and operational efficiency.

The Senior Supply Chain Analyst collaborates with clinical, operational, finance, physician, and executive stakeholders to develop data-driven recommendations and implement initiatives that improve supply chain performance while supporting excellent patient outcomes. Job Description

Strategic Analytics & Reporting

  • Analyze supply chain, utilization, spend, contract, and operational data to identify opportunities for cost savings, standardization, and process improvement.
  • Develop and maintain executive-level dashboards, scorecards, and KPI reporting utilizing business intelligence tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Premier, Health Catalyst, ERP reporting platforms, and other analytics solutions.
  • Perform trend analysis, predictive modeling, and benchmarking to support strategic decision-making.
  • Monitor savings initiatives and validate realized financial outcomes.

Contracting & Strategic Sourcing

  • Support contract negotiations through financial modeling, spend analysis, market benchmarking, and vendor performance evaluation.
  • Identify expiring contracts and facilitate timely renewal, renegotiation, or competitive sourcing strategies.
  • Partner with sourcing and contracting leadership to evaluate vendor proposals, pricing structures, and total cost of ownership.
  • Maintain contract compliance reporting and recommend corrective actions when compliance targets are not achieved.

Clinical Value Analysis

  • Support value analysis initiatives through product utilization assessments, evidence-based reviews, and cost-benefit analyses.
  • Partner with physicians, clinicians, and operational leaders to evaluate new products, technologies, and services.
  • Facilitate product standardization efforts while balancing clinical quality, patient outcomes, and financial stewardship.
  • Present analytical findings and recommendations to Value Analysis Committees and executive leadership.
  • Develop provider and facility performance scorecards that integrate clinical outcomes, cost, and revenue data to drive accountability, influence behavior, and advance organizational quality and financial goals.

Supply Chain Optimization

  • Evaluate inventory management strategies, product utilization patterns, and replenishment processes to improve operational efficiency.
  • Analyze non-contracted and non-compliant spend to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Assess consignment, bill-only, capital equipment, and leased equipment programs to optimize financial performance.
  • Support supply disruption mitigation, supplier risk monitoring, and continuity planning initiatives.

Project Leadership

  • Lead cross-functional projects from analysis through implementation and measurement.
  • Coordinate communication among stakeholders, vendors, clinical leaders, finance teams, and supply chain operations.
  • Develop project plans, timelines, implementation strategies, and post-implementation performance reviews.
  • Monitor achievement of project milestones and communicate progress to leadership.

Continuous Improvement

  • Recommend process improvements utilizing Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement principles.
  • Support adoption of automation and technology enhancements that improve supply chain effectiveness.
  • Stay informed regarding healthcare supply chain trends, group purchasing organization (GPO) initiatives, regulatory changes, and industry best practices.

Job Requirements

(Education, Experience, Licensure And Certification)

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Finance, Data Analytics, Economics, or a related field. Master’s degree (MBA, MHA, or related discipline) preferred
  • Five (5) or more years of progressive experience in healthcare supply chain, sourcing, contracting, analytics, finance, or operational improvement.

Preferred Certification in one of the following: Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM), Certified Materials and Resource Professional (CMRP), Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher, Project Management Professional (PMP
