What's the role?
Reporting to the IT Infrastructure Manager, the role is focused on ensuring secure, reliable, and efficient connectivity within sites, between BRUSH locations, and to cloud and hosted environments.
The position will work closely with internal IT teams and managed service providers (MSPs) to maintain network services, monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and support the delivery of network-related projects and improvements. The role is responsible for identifying network configuration changes, assessing requirements, conducting testing, and implementing approved changes in accordance with defined standards, processes, and security policies.
The post holder will provide technical support for network incidents and problems, acting as an escalation point for complex issues and contributing to major incident response activities when required. They will assist in ensuring network infrastructure remains secure, supported, and appropriately maintained through regular patching, monitoring, documentation, and lifecycle management activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the BRUSH Group network infrastructure across all business locations.
- Monitor network performance, availability, and capacity, proactively identifying and resolving issues to minimise business disruption.
- Identify network configuration changes required to support business, operational, security, and project requirements.
- Assess, document, test, and implement approved network changes in accordance with BRUSH Group change management processes and technical standards.
- Provide 2nd and 3rd line technical support for network-related incidents, problems, and service requests, ensuring issues are resolved within agreed service levels.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network connectivity issues across LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, internet, cloud, and hosted environments.
- Ensure all network changes and implementations comply with established standards, governance controls, and security requirements.
- Collaborate with colleagues across Infrastructure, Service Delivery, InfoSec and business teams to ensure network services effectively support operational requirements.
- Relevant experience in an Infrastructure Engineer, Network Engineer, Network Support Engineer, or similar infrastructure-focused role, supporting enterprise network environments.
- Proven experience identifying, testing, implementing, and documenting network configuration changes within a controlled change management framework
- Knowledge of ITSM frameworks (ITIL v4 Foundation or higher preferred).
- Hands-on experience with incident, problem, request, and major incident management.
- Understanding of network infrastructure lifecycle management, patching, firmware management, and vendor support requirements.
