What You Will Do
- Develop a deep understanding of data and business processes related to Chart Review, Targeting Analytics, and Risk Adjustment. Serve as an SME in chart targeting while participating in creating integrated data solutions across the organization
- Research and develop innovative analytics to generate value for Optum and our clients
- Identify trends and opportunities for growth through analysis of complex datasets
- Use data expertise to analyze data and provide solutions to optimizing the performance of operations and data processing tasks
- Drive strategies for targeting analytics, chart review business processes, and back end data operations
- Lead reengineering initiatives to modernize legacy analytics and work with stakeholders to understand new features and enhancements
- Design data integration processes with automation, process controls, and monitoring tools to ensure data quality
- Validate data pipelines and provide design inputs to build scalable data and analytics processes/data flows
- Provide accurate data to reporting teams to enable them to build elegant dashboards and reports for complex analytic results
- Provide quality checks to ensure high standard and accurate data

- Bachelor's degree in Analytics, Data Science, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent professional experience
- Proven extensive experience in complex data analysis and mining large datasets within complex data environments
- Demonstrated advanced proficiency in SQL, Python, Databricks, or similar technologies
- Demonstrated ability to drive data-driven business solutions within complex data environments
- Demonstrated basic familiarity with big data and cloud technologies
- Proven ability to drive change and influence stakeholders at all organizational levels through technical discussions and analytical insights
- Proven ability to work collaboratively and build solid networks within cross-functional environments
- Demonstrated solid communication and presentation skills, with the ability to simplify complex data insights for non-technical audiences
- Proven experience working within healthcare organizations in data-centric roles, with demonstrated knowledge of Risk Adjustment
- Proven experience mentoring and leading data analysts
- Demonstrated knowledge of data architecture, ETL, data warehouse design, and large-scale data processing
