Description

The Sales Analyst is a member of the Enterprise Partnerships team and provides the analysis behind Mansfield’s complex construction, mobile refueling, and data center customer relationships. This role measures site and program performance, models new service and data solutions, produces research that supports substantive customer conversations, and coordinates analytical handoffs.

Responsibilities

Site and Program Performance Analysis

  • Measure whether live sites and programs are performing as sold, comparing volume, delivered cost, service levels, and margin against the assumptions on which the program was built.
  • Evaluate profit and loss by customer and site to identify where a program is under-penetrated, pricing is misaligned with the cost to serve, or ready for expansion.
  • Analyze site duration, utilization, and equipment payback across a portfolio where locations may mobilize and demobilize on short notice.
  • Deliver findings to the assigned sales or account leader with recommended actions based on the analysis.

New Data and Service Model Development

  • Model the economics of emerging service models for the construction, mobile refueling, and data center segments, including construction consignment considerations such as inventory ownership, consumption and reconciliation, settlement logic, and working capital implications.
  • Build comparative analyses supporting the conversion of on-road fleets from retail fueling to bulk fueling, including volume, delivered cost per gallon, tank and equipment requirements, and payback period.
  • Define the recurring data exchange a program depends on, including what the customer provides, what Mansfield returns, the required format and cadence, and the content and accuracy of the analytical package provided to the customer.
  • Pressure-test assumptions with Supply, Procurement, Pricing, Credit, and Operations before a model is used to support a customer commitment.
  • Document successful models and methodologies to support repeatable solutions and consistent application.

Value-Add Research and Sales Support

  • Produce customer and market research for high-complexity accounts, including fuel spend profiles, site footprints, consumption patterns, competitive alternatives, and operating conditions that influence customer needs.
  • Build analytical content for customer business reviews, including site activity, program performance, realized savings, and expansion recommendations.
  • Respond to analytical questions from the field and customers where no standard report exists, developing analysis using available data, sound assumptions, and appropriate cross-functional guidance.
  • Assemble supporting analysis and documentation for bids, proposals, and pricing requests prepared by the sales team.
  • Maintain opportunity and account data for assigned accounts to support accurate leadership reporting; sales forecasting remains the responsibility of the account owner.

Cross-Functional Collaboration and Handoff

  • Compile approved analytical inputs for site build handoff, including site, tank, volume, approved pricing, delivery parameters, and start date, and provide them to the Operations Analyst for execution.
  • Route operational and record-driven work to the Operations Analyst, maintaining clear responsibilities between the roles.
  • Partner with Sales Success Managers and Customer Implementation Managers on programs requiring formal project management.
  • Monitor contract terms and expiration dates for assigned accounts and identify renewal and repricing opportunities for the account owner, who owns the customer conversation.
  • Maintain current knowledge of Mansfield’s solution portfolio through available training and regular collaboration with product line managers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

Formal Education & Certification

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, economics, or equivalent experience required.

  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly explain analytical findings to internal leadership and customers.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization and with external partners.
  • Demonstrated initiative and strong organizational skills, with a sense of urgency, accountability, and a collaborative approach.

Work Environment & Travel

  • This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Work hours may vary depending on project deadlines and business needs, and overtime may be required in accordance with company policy.
  • Eligibility for the hybrid work week (three days in office and two days remote) begins after completion of training.
  • Travel to customer and job sites up to 20%.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time to perform office work.
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment.
