I'm currently working alongside a legal technology company based in Ghent, who are actively looking for an AI Engineer to join their team. You'll be designing and implementing AI-driven capabilities that automate legal workflows, streamline document analysis, and enable smarter, more efficient use of legal data.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy AI and machine learning models for production-grade legal SaaS applications.
- Build intelligent solutions using Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs) to automate legal processes and enhance product capabilities.
- Develop robust data pipelines, feature engineering workflows, and AI services for processing large volumes of legal documents and structured data.
- Implement AI-powered features including intelligent legal search, document classification, contract analysis, information extraction, summarisation, predictive analytics, and conversational AI.
- Develop and optimise RAG pipelines and AI agents for legal research and knowledge retrieval.
- Integrate AI models with APIs, cloud platforms, databases, and modern software architectures.
- Ensure AI solutions meet high standards for accuracy, reliability, explainability, data privacy, and security.
Your Profile
- 2–8 years of experience in AI Engineering, Machine Learning Engineering, Data Science, or a similar role.
- Strong Python development skills.
- Experience building and deploying production-grade machine learning or AI solutions.
- Hands-on experience with Generative AI, LLMs, NLP, RAG, AI agents, document intelligence, or information retrieval.
- Understanding of data engineering concepts including ETL/ELT pipelines, APIs, cloud data platforms, and data modelling.
- Experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP.
- Familiarity with frameworks and technologies such as LangChain, LangGraph, Hugging Face, PyTorch, TensorFlow, or similar is an advantage.
- Experience working with legal, regulatory, compliance, or other document-heavy domains is a strong plus.
- Fluent in English.
