Our client, a leading global biopharmaceutical organization, is seeking an experienced Data Scientist to join their Process Development division in Lexington, Massachusetts. This role is focused on bridging the gap between complex biological data and actionable insights to enhance the development of life-saving therapeutics.
In this position, you will be responsible for integrating diverse data streams and expanding the team capabilities in modeling and visualization. You will work closely with laboratory scientists and technical staff to ensure that data from various experimental conditions is translated into clear, strategic information that drives process improvements and scientific breakthroughs.
Key Responsibilities
Create and maintain automated workflows to integrate data from various scientific sources.
Design and deploy interactive dashboards and visualization tools to track process performance and identify trends.
Build predictive and statistical models to guide decision-making throughout the biotherapeutics development lifecycle.
Perform deep-dive analysis on complex datasets to identify anomalies and optimization opportunities.
Act as a technical consultant and trainer for internal teams regarding data science tools and methodologies.
Collaborate with cross-functional project teams to define data requirements and ensure timely delivery of analysis.
Represent the department in external technical collaborations and knowledge transfer initiatives.
Candidate Requirements
A PhD in Data Science or a related quantitative field is preferred, though a Masters degree with at least 6 years of experience or a Bachelors degree with at least 8 years of experience will be considered.
Demonstrated background in data cleaning, integration, and management within a scientific or manufacturing environment.
Advanced proficiency in building dashboards and data visualizations for technical stakeholders.
Proven experience developing machine learning or statistical models applied to laboratory or process data.
Familiarity with the systems and software typically used in biopharmaceutical development and manufacturing.
Ability to work independently under general direction while providing mentorship to more junior staff members.
Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex findings to senior management and diverse technical audiences.
Compensation and Environment
The anticipated base salary range for this role is 116,000 to 182,270 USD. Final compensation will be determined by the specific qualifications, education, and relevant experience of the candidate.
