Job Description

One Research Assistant (RA) position is available for a full-time RA at the Statistics and Business Analytics, College of Business and Economics, United Arab Emirates University. The successful candidate will collaborate on an ongoing funded research project in the area of FinTech and Financial Innovation, with a particular focus on digital finance, financial technology, and their implications for corporate finance, governance, and sustainable finance. The research is applied and empirical in nature and examines topics such as FinTech adoption, digital transformation, financial inclusion, ESG–FinTech interactions, and technology-driven changes in corporate behavior and financial markets. The appointment is for one year, with the possibility of extension subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance. The RA will work under the supervision and guidance of the Principal Investigator (PI). Research progress will be monitored through regular meetings, and the position is expected to lead to high-quality journal publications.

Minimum Qualification

  • A PhD in Finance, Financial Economics, FinTech, or a closely related field from a reputable university, with publications or strong research potential in FinTech, Corporate Finance, Governance, or Sustainable Finance (ESG). 2. Strong proficiency in statistical and programming software (e.g., Stata, Python, R, SAS), and familiarity with relevant databases such as Compustat, CRSP, BoardEx, WRDS, Bloomberg, or FinTech-related datasets. 3. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a research team, strong organizational skills, and fluency in English (spoken and written).

Preferred Qualification

Expected Skills

Excellent quantitative skills, with experience analyzing large-scale survey data. Additional Desired Skills in AI and Machine Learning (FinTech-Focused)
