Job Description: Project Manager – Digital Projects (Oil & Gas / Chemicals)
Job Location - Bangalore/Vadodara
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead and deliver end-to-end digital transformation projects for Oil & Gas and Chemical industry clients. The role involves managing cross-functional initiatives spanning enterprise applications, cloud platforms, data & analytics, and Operational Technology (OT) systems, ensuring alignment with business objectives, safety standards, and industry regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Project & Program Management
•Lead end-to-end delivery of digital projects across Applications, Cloud, Analytics, and OT domains
•Define project scope, schedule, cost, and resource plans aligned with customer objectives
•Ensure adherence to project governance frameworks (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid)
•Monitor KPIs, milestones, risks, and deliverables, ensuring on-time and within-budget delivery
•Manage project financials including budgeting, forecasting, and margin optimization
Stakeholder & Customer Management
•Act as the primary interface between client stakeholders, business teams, and technical teams
•Provide regular executive-level reporting and communications
•Drive customer satisfaction, issue resolution, and relationship management
Digital Solution Delivery
Oversee implementation of:
•Enterprise Applications (ERP, Asset Management, Engineering systems, GIS)
•Cloud solutions (AWS, Azure, GCP – migration, modernization, cloud-native apps)
•Data & Analytics (Data platforms, dashboards, predictive analytics, AI/ML use cases)
•OT/Industrial Systems (SCADA, DCS, IIoT, Digital Twins, Process Safety systems)
•Ensure integration between IT and OT systems for seamless digital ecosystems
Risk, Quality & Compliance Management
•Identify and mitigate project risks, especially related to safety-critical environments
•Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., ISA95, IEC standards, cybersecurity frameworks)
Team & Delivery Leadership
•Lead multi-disciplinary teams (developers, cloud engineers, data scientists, OT specialists)
•Manage global delivery models including offshore/onshore coordination
Business Development & Pre-sales Support
•Support RFP/RFI responses, solutioning, and estimation
•Contribute to proposal development, client presentations, and solution defense
•Identify opportunities for account growth, digital transformation, and innovation
Required Skills & Competencies
Domain Knowledge
•Strong understanding of Oil & Gas / Chemical industry processes (upstream, midstream, downstream, refining, petrochemicals)
•Familiarity with plant operations, asset lifecycle management, and process safety
Technical Expertise
•Enterprise applications (SAP, Maximo, AVEVA, Hexagon, etc.)
•Cloud platforms (Azure/AWS/GCP)
•Data & Analytics platforms (Power BI, Databricks, Snowflake, etc.)
•OT systems (SCADA, DCS, PI System, Digital Twin platforms)
•Knowledge of IT-OT convergence architectures
Project Management Skills
•Strong hands-on experience with Agile/Scrum and Waterfall methodologies
•Proficiency in tools like MS Project, Jira, Azure DevOps
•Expertise in risk management, cost control, and schedule management
Soft Skills
•Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
•Ability to work in complex, safety-critical, and matrix environments
•Executive presence for client-facing roles
Qualifications
•Bachelor’s degree in engineering / technology (preferred: Chemical, Mechanical, IT)
•PMP / PRINCE2 / Agile certifications (preferred)
•10–18 years of experience, with at least 5+ years managing digital projects in Oil & Gas or Chemicals
