The Senior Manager plays a pivotal role in shaping and executing product strategies, engaging with regulatory authorities, and mentoring junior team members.
Duties & Responsibilities
Product Development
- Drive the end-to-end development of innovative products and strategic enhancements aligned with corporate goals.
- Manage regulatory submissions and approvals, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Lead and influence cross-functional teams, including marketing, actuarial, and operations, to deliver seamless product launches and updates.
- Mentor and develop junior team members, fostering a high-performance culture within the product development team.
- Oversee the resolution of complex product issues, system or operational concerns, and customer escalations.
- Establish and maintain relationships with industry bodies, regulators, and other stakeholders to support product initiatives.
- Collaborate closely with the Product Development Director, Technology Enablement Director, and Chief Products and Propositions Officer in achieving operational excellence in developing and launching new products.
- Work closely with Pricing and Product Category Heads in balancing customer-centricity and profitability of new product strategies.
- Lead and oversee junior product development managers and officers.
- Lead/PIC for marketing across systems and all platform developments.
- Liaise between technology and marketing teams’ requirements.
- Work closely with the Digital teams (business analyst and product owners) for key product and project scoping.
- Works on overseeing possible and future system integration from the business standpoint
- Work closely with the Digital and service delivery teams for (feature) prioritization and build
- Work closely with the Digital team to ensure deployment and post deployment are in place, on track and correct.
- Strong strategic thinking, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent project management skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation capabilities.
- Adapting a growth mindset, continuous improvement
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Business Administration, Marketing, Communication, or related fields.
- At least 7 years’ experience in life insurance product development, pricing, or actuarial functions, with a proven track record of leading strategic projects.
- Deep understanding of insurance regulatory environments and product compliance.
