Where you Fit In:

Data Engineer Team Lead function will be responsible for leading the team that collects, stores, processes, and analyzes data sets. They will be responsible for the team, for project activities and delivery, and cooperating with project management, product, and Architecture.

Who are You?

The Data Engineer Team Lead is responsible for overseeing the data development lifecycle. This may include attending meetings and taking minutes, receiving project documents, compiling knowledge bases, keeping project deadlines, growing the team and managing the performance of every individual in it.

The impact you will have:

Maintain and evolve the existing Data Platform (Spark-based ETL pipelines, Kafka messaging, PostgreSQL DWH) and be a key player in designing and implementing the next-generation Data Lake / event-driven Data Warehouse architecture.

Align with the company's software engineering policies including SDLC, CI/CD processes, database structures, monitoring, and logging standards.

Monitor and improve data quality across all operator data sets, ensuring reliability for regulatory reporting and BI consumption.

Recommend and implement improvements to data reliability, pipeline observability, and incident response processes for the data infrastructure.

Develop and maintain reports and dashboards (Power BI) in collaboration with BI Developers and Data Analysts.

Upskill and grow a team of Data Engineers and BI professionals; manage performance and career development of everyone.

Audit and maintain current Data platform for improvements

Coordinate with cross-functional teams (Sportsbook, Casino, Payments, Platform) and business stakeholders on data integration strategies and shared data contracts.

What we’re looking for:

Excellent level of English language, written and verbal

Experience in open-source data technologies (Spark, Hadoop, HBase, Hive, Kafka, Storm etc.)

SQL and NoSQL technologies, experience with data modelling and DWH design

Experience with Version Control Systems (GitLab/Git)

Strong object-oriented design and development skills (Scala)

Enjoy improving & optimizing software and using new technologies

Unix/Linux and shell scripting proficiency

Experience managing data pipelines in production with monitoring, alerting, and incident response

Proactive thinking, result-oriented approach, and proven ability to lead and mentor engineers

Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs

Solid understanding of database paradigms — columnar, distributed, and row-based

Desirable:

Knowledge of event-driven / streaming architectures (Kafka Streams, Flink, or equivalent)

Experience managing and migrating legacy data systems

AWS knowledge and experience (S3, CloudFront, or related services)

Familiarity with BI/reporting tools (Power BI, Grafana)

Experience in the iGaming / betting industry or other regulated environments

Experience with multi-tenancy architecture
