Role Overview
The GBS Data and Analytics team is composed of individual doers and collaborators working passionately to apply cutting‑edge advances in technology to solve real‑world problems. As a Data Modeler in this group, you will work directly with architects and engineers in creating, optimizing, and documenting data models to translate complex business data into usable computer systems.
You are expected to support the enhancement of data governance, quality, and accessibility, ultimately empowering our organization to make data‑driven decisions and achieve strategic objectives.
What you need to have
- Graduated in (Business) Informatics, IT, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Data Modeling, Data Architecture, Data Management, or Analytics-related roles.
- Strong experience in conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling, including relational and dimensional modeling techniques.
- Solid understanding of modeling notations, normalization principles, Codd's relational rules, metadata management, and enterprise data architecture concepts.
- Proficient in SQL and in using cloud-based data warehousing platforms such as Snowflake.
- Experience using one or more data modeling tools such as SqlDBM, Erwin, ER/Studio, Power Designer, Enterprise Architect, InfoSphere Data Architect, ModelSphere, or Toad Data Modeler.
- Experience documenting data lineage, business definitions, transformation rules, and data mapping specifications.
- Familiarity with master data and reference data concepts.
- Experience with MDM platforms such as SAP-MDG is a plus.
- Business domain knowledge within Commercial, Consumer, Operations, or Supply Chain areas is a plus.
- Passion for designing scalable, high-quality, and reusable data models that support enterprise-wide analytics and reporting.
- Knowledge of data governance, metadata management, and data quality best practices.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with business stakeholders and technical teams, gather requirements, and explain data modeling decisions.
- Ability to translate business concepts into robust and maintainable data structures.
- Experience facilitating discussions across business and technical teams to align on data definitions and standards.
- Ability to work effectively with globally distributed teams.
