- You will integrate directly into our client's team and work alongside their existing designers and engineers on a daily basis.
- 8+ years of professional Database Administration experience.
- Advanced English is required.
- Successful completion of a four-year college degree is required.
- Demonstrated experience administering and maintaining Microsoft SQL Server at significant scale, ideally across 1,000+ databases or an equivalent enterprise environment.
- Deep expertise in SQL Server administration within Windows-hosted environments.
- Strong experience with SQL Server performance tuning, troubleshooting, and optimization.
- Advanced knowledge of SQL Server indexing strategies and index optimization.
- Strong experience analyzing execution plans, query performance, waits, blocking, locking, and other SQL Server performance indicators.
- Proven ability to identify and resolve database performance bottlenecks proactively.
- Strong understanding of SQL Server maintenance and ongoing database health management.
- Demonstrated ability to establish database administration standards, procedures, and best practices in environments where formal DBA processes may not yet exist.
- Proven experience troubleshooting complex production database issues and determining root causes.
- Consultative mindset with the confidence to challenge ineffective approaches and recommend better technical solutions.
- Ability to operate at scale, prioritizing issues and improvements across a large number of databases without losing attention to operational detail.
- Strong ownership mentality, with the ability to independently manage the health and performance of a large database environment.
- Availability to work with regular overlap during Canadian business hours, aligned with either Vancouver/Pacific Time or Toronto/Eastern Time.
- Ability to work through new and difficult issues and contribute to libraries as needed.
- Ability to create and maintain continuous integration and delivery of applications.
- Forensic attention to detail.

- Experience working on Agile / Scrum teams.
- Meaningful experience working on large, complex systems.
