At Whitbread, we're transforming how data powers decisions across our business. As we continue to evolve our modern data platform, we're looking for an experienced Analytics Engineer to help build trusted, scalable data products that enable analytics, reporting, data science and automation across the organisation.

This is an exciting opportunity to sit at the intersection of Data Engineering and Analytics, combining technical expertise with business impact. You'll work with modern cloud technologies, helping shape data products that are reliable, reusable and trusted by teams throughout Whitbread.

Role: Analytics Engineer

Contract Type: Full time, Permanent

Location: Whitbread Court, Dunstable

Salary: £55k-£60k depending on experience

What You’ll Be Doing

As an Analytics Engineer, you'll play a key role in building and developing trusted data products that power decision-making across Whitbread. Working within our modern Databricks-based FLOW platform, you'll design, build and maintain robust data models and transformation pipelines, turning raw data into high-quality, analysis-ready datasets that can be confidently used by teams across the business.

You'll work closely with stakeholders to understand requirements, translate them into scalable technical solutions and ensure that data products are accurate, well-documented and easy to reuse. You'll take ownership of testing, governance and continuous improvement, applying engineering best practices to deliver reliable and cost-effective solutions.

Alongside managing your own priorities within an agile delivery environment, you'll contribute to the development of standards across the team, support junior colleagues through coaching and mentoring, and help shape the future evolution of Whitbread's data platform and analytics capabilities

What You’ll Need

  • Strong Experience developing data products within Databricks or a similar Spark/lakehouse environment.
  • Strong SQL and Python development skills.
  • Strong knowledge of data modelling, transformation and dimensional design.
  • Experience in AI driven development.
  • A passion for building high-quality data solutions and a strong understanding of modern analytics engineering principles.
  • Ability to solve problems independently
