Full Job Description

We're working with a leading Australian organisation looking for Lead Data Engineers to join a growing data engineering function and help shape a modern cloud data platform.

This is a hands-on lead role, working across MS Azure to design and deliver scalable data solutions supporting enterprise analytics, reporting and AI initiatives.

The Role

You'll work closely with Data Architects, Engineers and business stakeholders to:

• Lead the design and development of Microsoft Azure data solutions
• AWS and Snowflake are also desirable
• Build scalable, reliable data pipelines and data products
• Design data models and cloud data architecture for enterprise environments
• Drive engineering standards around data quality, performance, CI/CD and automation
• Mentor and support other Data Engineers
• Translate business requirements into technical solutions
• Contribute to the ongoing modernisation of the organisation's data platform

About You

You'll ideally have:

• Strong commercial experience across Microsoft Azure
• Advanced SQL and strong data engineering fundamentals
• Experience designing and building enterprise-scale data pipelines
• Strong understanding of cloud data architecture and data modelling
• Experience with Python, dbt, Airflow and AWS native data services
• Snowflake is also desirable
• Experience leading technical delivery and mentoring engineers
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

Candidates can be based in Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane and must be Australian Citizens.
