Data Engineer

An established automotive technology business is looking for an experienced machine learning professional to join the team. The role focuses on developing privacy-first data and model solutions for next-generation edge AI products and intelligent assistants. The successful candidate will work within a specialized team to enable fast iteration and innovation through robust engineering practices.

What you'll be doing

• Design and operate data pipelines for ingestion, curation, pseudonymization, and versioning

• Implement reproducible training and finetuning builds for generative AI edge device models

• Set up experiment tracking, artifact registries, and evaluation suites for model variants

• Optimize dataset construction for small language models using instruction tuning and synthetic data

• Build self-serve tools and automated pipelines to support cross-functional engineering teams

What we're looking for

• University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field

• Extensive experience in machine learning engineering using Python and PyTorch

• Strong software fundamentals in testing, profiling, and CI/CD environments

• Knowledge of evaluation at scale, including drift detection, regression testing, and A/B experimentation

• Professional English proficiency; German language skills are considered an advantage
