Hedge Fund Data Analyst, Investor Relations

Location: Boca Raton, FL

Reports to: Deputy Head of Investor Relations

About the Firm

We are a $5.4+ billion AUM alternative asset manager based in Boca Raton, Florida, specializing in relative value fixed income, convexity/derivative trading, and long/short credit strategies. Our institutional investor base spans endowments, pensions, sovereign wealth funds, and family offices. We are looking for a data- and AI-native analyst to join our Investor Relations team and help build the analytical infrastructure behind how we report to, communicate with, and construct solutions for our clients.

The Role

This is a newly created role for someone who wants to sit at the intersection of financial markets, data engineering, and client-facing analytics. You'll work directly with the Head of IR and Deputy Head of IR to turn portfolio, risk, and market data into the analysis, reporting, and materials our investors rely on. This is a hands-on, build-it-yourself role — you'll be expected to write your own code, structure your own data pipelines, and use AI tools to move faster and go deeper than a traditional analyst role would allow.

We're open to candidates ranging from recent graduates to those with a few years of relevant experience. What matters most is technical fluency, intellectual curiosity about markets, and the judgment to communicate complex ideas clearly.

What You'll Work On

  • Historical data analysis — sourcing, cleaning, and analyzing historical market and portfolio data to support performance narratives and competitive positioning
  • Trade strategy analysis — breaking down and summarizing the mechanics, risk/return profile, and performance drivers of our relative value and derivative strategies for investor audiences
  • Portfolio construction support — modeling allocation scenarios, correlation and drawdown analysis, and strategy blending for multi-strategy portfolio work
  • Portfolio proposals — building customized proposals and analytics for prospective and existing investors evaluating an allocation
  • Client communications — translating technical analysis into clear, polished materials (decks, one-pagers, DDQ responses, data exhibits) for use in investor meetings and correspondence

What We're Looking For

Technical skills

  • Fluency in SQL, Python, C#
  • Strong Excel skills, including the ability to build and audit complex models
  • Fluency with AI tools to accelerate analysis and build internal tools — experience with Claude Code or similar agentic coding tools is a strong plus

Domain and communication skills

  • Genuine curiosity about financial markets, with particular interest in derivatives and relative value trading
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills — able to explain quantitative concepts to a non-technical or semi-technical investor audience
  • High attention to detail and comfort operating in a fast-paced, client-facing environment
  • Collegial, low-ego style; comfortable working closely with senior team members and taking direction while also working independently

Background

  • Bachelor's degree required; quantitative, finance, economics, computer science, or related field preferred
  • 0–2 years of relevant experience (internships, coursework projects, or prior analyst roles all count)
  • No specific experience required — we care more about demonstrated ability than pedigree

Why This Role

This is a ground-floor opportunity to help define what a modern, AI-augmented investor relations analytics function looks like at a sophisticated alternative asset manager. You'll have direct exposure to senior IR leadership, real client-facing deliverables, and the latitude to build innovative tools and workflows.
