Overview

We are looking for a Principal Data Engineer to help build and support our architecture, with a focus on Oracle Fusion Data Intelligence (FDI), Oracle Fusion HCM data, Databricks, and Power BI.


This role will help connect source systems, governed data models, reporting layers, and analytics products into a reliable enterprise data ecosystem.


Successful Candidate

The successful candidate is a hands-on technical candidate who can connect Oracle FDI, Databricks, Power BI, governance, and business reporting needs into a simple, secure, and scalable People Data architecture.


Primary Focus Areas

  • Fusion Data Intelligence: Support FDI setup, configuration, validation, access model, and HCM analytics enablement.
  • Data Architecture: Design data flows, data models, integration patterns, and documentation across Oracle, Databricks, and Power BI.
  • Data Engineering: Build and improve scalable pipelines, curated datasets, and trusted data products.
  • Governance and Security: Apply access controls, data quality rules, lineage, metadata, and PII protection.


Core Skills

  • Oracle FDI: FDI setup, configuration, validation, security model, HCM analytics, and support model.
  • Data Architecture: Data modeling, integration design, source-to-target mapping, semantic layers, and documentation.
  • Databricks: PySpark, Delta Lake, Medallion architecture, Unity Catalog, workflows, and optimization.
  • Governance: Data quality, lineage, cataloging, PII protection, access control, and auditability.
  • Business Partnership: Translate business needs into data products, architecture decisions, and clear delivery plans.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead technical work for Oracle Fusion Data Intelligence, including setup, validation, security alignment, and readiness for People/HR reporting.
  • Partner with vendors, HRIS/IT, Oracle administrators, analytics teams, and business stakeholders to deliver trusted FDI and People Data solutions.
  • Design the target-state People Data architecture across Oracle Fusion HCM, FDI, Databricks, Power BI, and other downstream reporting tools.
  • Create data models, source-to-target mapping, lineage documentation, metric definitions, and reusable data product standards.
  • Build and optimize data pipelines using Databricks, PySpark, SQL, Delta Lake, and related cloud data engineering tools.
  • Implement data quality checks, monitoring, issue resolution processes, and documentation for key data assets.
  • Support secure handling of sensitive people data through role-based access, PII protection, auditability, and governance controls.
  • Mentor engineers and analysts on data engineering, data architecture, documentation, and platform best practices.


Required Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, analytics engineering, or a related technical data role.
  • Experience with Oracle Fusion Data Intelligence, Oracle Fusion Analytics, Oracle Analytics Cloud, Oracle Autonomous Data Warehouse, or similar enterprise analytics platforms.
  • Experience with Oracle Fusion HCM data, HR reporting, workforce analytics, or people data domains strongly preferred.
  • Strong experience with Databricks, PySpark, SQL, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, and cloud data engineering practices.
  • Experience designing enterprise data models, semantic layers, governed metrics, and reporting-ready datasets.
  • Ability to work with technical teams, business leaders, vendors, and governance partners to deliver scalable data solutions.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Oracle FDI, Oracle Analytics, OCI, Databricks, or Azure data engineering certification.
  • Experience with workforce analytics, HR data governance, payroll/benefits/talent data, or compliance reporting.
  • Experience with CI/CD, Git, Azure DevOps, Terraform, dbt, or similar engineering tools.
  • Experience supporting AI/ML or predictive analytics on governed enterprise data.
