About this Position Digital Engineer is responsible for leading the implementation, support, enhancement, and digital transformation of Smart Factory Systems (SFS) across manufacturing operations. The role drives data-driven decision making through advanced analytics, machine learning, AI initiatives, and integration of manufacturing systems with ERP, MES, and OT environments. The position leads cross-functional teams and manages digital transformation projects that improve operational efficiency, productivity, traceability, and manufacturing performance.
What You´ll Do
- Lead Smart Factory Systems (SFS) and digital transformation initiatives across manufacturing operations to improve productivity, quality, traceability, and operational efficiency.
- Manage the delivery of data analytics, machine learning, and AI projects that drive business value and support data-driven decision making.
- Collaborate with production, quality, supply chain, OT, and IT teams to identify opportunities and implement digital manufacturing solutions.
- Drive the integration of Smart Factory Systems, SAP, MES, automation systems, and enterprise platforms to enable seamless data flow and process automation
- Analyze manufacturing and business data using Python, SQL, and advanced analytics techniques to generate actionable insights and continuous improvement opportunities.
- Lead project planning and execution, including scope, timelines, budgets, resources, risk management, and stakeholder engagement.
- Manage and mentor a team of engineers, analysts, and external partners, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and technical excellence.
- Develop and monitor KPIs, dashboards, and reporting frameworks to measure the effectiveness and business impact of digital solutions.
- Ensure compliance with company standards, cybersecurity requirements, data governance policies, and project management best practices.
- Stay current with emerging technologies in AI, machine learning, advanced analytics, Industry 4.0, and smart manufacturing, and translate them into practical business applications.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related disciplines.
- 4-6 years of experience in IT, software development, digital transformation, or related technology roles, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in software development, custom software solutions, and implementation of new digital systems.
- Proven experience in AI, Machine Learning, and data analytics projects, including knowledge of Machine Learning algorithms and their practical applications.
- Hands-on experience with Python and SQL.
- Strong project management experience, including end-to-end project delivery, cross-functional coordination, and stakeholder management.
- Leadership experience and ability to collaborate effectively with local and regional teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with fluent written and spoken English.
