Senior Java & Hive Engineer at BairesDev

As a Senior Java & Hive Engineer, you will design and build high-performance distributed query engine components to power large-scale data processing. You will drive architectural improvements and optimize system scalability, ensuring our data platform executes complex queries with maximum efficiency.

What You'll Do

• Lead the design and development of distributed query engine components to support massive data workloads.
• Optimize SQL query processing and execution plans to minimize latency and resource consumption.
• Implement deep performance enhancements within database internals and distributed systems.
• Drive architectural standards for scalability, reliability, and technical alignment across engineering teams.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, fostering technical excellence and best practices in distributed computing.

What We Are Looking For

• 5+ years of experience in Software Engineering, Database Development, or a related field.
• Proven expertise in Java and Apache Hive.
• Strong hands-on experience with database internals, SQL query processing, and query optimization using Apache Calcite.
• Demonstrated experience designing distributed query engine components and driving architectural improvements.
• Advanced proficiency in English.
