Data Platform Manager

Own the construction and operation of Greater China's "Sovereign Data Foundation". While adhering to global data governance boundaries, you will build a compliant, modern Data Lakehouse, an Enterprise Knowledge Base, and a robust Data Semantic Layer. Your goal is to ensure all enterprise data is transformed into high-quality, AI-Ready Data. To fuel generative AI innovation and agentic workflows for China and the world. Your day to day

• Govern the Sovereign Data Foundation Establish a China-resident, compliant cloud data layer using Alibaba Cloud DataWorks, MaxCompute, and Hologres. Deploy and govern the Enterprise Knowledge Base powered by Vector Databases (e.g., Milvus/DashVector), unifying unstructured data (hotel SOPs, policies, contracts) and structured data to support Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).
• Data Semantic Layer & Knowledge Base Architect and own the Data Semantic Layer (e.g., using dbt Semantic Layer or similar tools). Bridge the gap between raw database schemas and AI comprehension by defining unified, business-friendly metrics (e.g., RevPAR, ADR, Loyalty Point Balances) so that AI Agents and LLMs can query business data accurately via natural language without hallucination.
• Bi-directional Global Sync Architecture & AI-Ready Data Engineering Oversee the bi-directional global data sync, ensuring the China-resident data layer remains physically separate from, but schema-synced to, the global infrastructure with clear governance boundaries. Ingest consented signals from super-app ecosystems and ensure they are rigorously cleansed, contextualized, and engineered into structured, AI-Ready Data (such as 360-degree AI-ready guest profiles). Consented Partner Signal Integration, Ingest and engineer consented partner signals from super-app data agreements into highly structured, AI-ready guest profiles to fuel signal-rich personalization by design.
• Enterprise Data Compliance & Regulatory Execution Lead technical execution for complex regulatory processes, including Data Export Security Assessments (CBDT) and PIPL compliance. Translate legal requirements into automated access controls and dynamic masking policies within the semantic and data layers.

What we need from you

• Education & Modern Tech Stack Experience Bachelor’s or above in Data Engineering, or related field. 5+ years in data management. Advanced proficiency in the Alibaba Cloud big data stack and modern Data Mesh/Data Catalog concepts. Familiar with data classification, protection techniques, and Vector DBs for GenAI context retrieval.
• Hospitality Know-How Deeply understand hotel data assets (guest preferences, lifetime value, RevPAR, F&B consumption) and how to transform them into actionable commercial insights, how to semantically model them for AI consumption. Familiarity with integrating global legacy systems (CRS, PMS) with agile local digital ecosystems. Proven ability to architect systems that natively support strict data sovereignty and localization laws.
• Regulatory Expertise Deep authoritative understanding of China’s Data Security Law, PIPL, and cross-border data transfer mechanisms (CAC regulations). CIPP/E, CISSP, or equivalent certifications preferred.
• Language & Certifications Fluent in English and Mandarin (both written and verbal). Professional certifications such as Cloud Architecture, CIPP/E, CISSP, or equivalent certifications preferred. Authoritative understanding of China’s Data Security Law and cross-border data transfer mechanisms.
