We’re seeking a motivated Student Intern who is eager to learn from industry leaders and help build stronger communities through active infrastructure projects from May to August.

As a Student Intern, you’ll work closely with experienced professionals to support planning, design, field work, and technology-driven solutions for municipal water and wastewater utilities. Gain well-rounded industry experience, strengthen technical skills, and develop meaningful relationships with engineers, operators, contractors, and municipal staff.

What You’ll Gain

Goals & Responsibilities

This position includes, but is not limited to, the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Assist with design, drafting, modeling, and technical support using CAD, hydraulic modeling, data management, and related engineering software
  • Support the preparation of engineering reports, specifications, cost estimates, planning documents, and utility technology deliverables
  • Conduct data collection, research, and technical analysis for project designs
  • Participate in fieldwork, site inspections, and utility facility observations under the guidance of senior staff
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure project quality and accuracy
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and support compliance standards.

Qualifications & Skills

The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following education, experience, and abilities:

  • Current enrollment in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related water, wastewater, or utility technology program
  • Basic understanding of water, wastewater, environmental, electrical, controls, or municipal utility systems
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite, and an interest in hydraulic modeling, data systems, controls, instrumentation, or SCADA platforms
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team-focused environment
