Senior Data Engineer

Azure | AI-Assisted Engineering | Microsoft Fabric | Cosmos DB | Financial Markets

Job Description:

We are looking for Senior Data Engineers to design, build, and optimise strategic cloud-native data platforms supporting pricing, valuation, market data, and analytics within a global Financial Markets environment.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on senior data engineer with strong expertise in Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Fabric, Cosmos DB, Spark, and Python, combined with experience building scalable, high-volume, real-time and batch data solutions.

You will also have a strong interest in AI-assisted engineering, leveraging GitHub Copilot, AI-powered development tools, and agentic solutions to accelerate data engineering, automation, testing, and delivery.

Strong Financial Markets experience is essential, with exposure to pricing, valuation, market data, or analytics. Experience in Fixed Income, Rates, Credit, or Yield Curve analytics is highly desirable.

Responsibilities:

• Design and build scalable, high-performance data platforms and pipelines on Microsoft Azure.
• Develop and optimise data ingestion, transformation, and distribution pipelines.
• Build real-time and batch data processing solutions using Microsoft Fabric, ADLS, Spark, and PySpark.
• Design and optimise Azure Cosmos DB solutions for scalability, performance, resilience, and cost efficiency.
• Support high-volume market data, pricing, valuation, and analytics workloads.
• Apply data modelling, performance tuning, and distributed data processing best practices.
• Leverage GitHub Copilot, AI engineering tools, and agentic solutions to accelerate development and engineering automation.
• Contribute to architecture, DevOps, CI/CD, engineering standards, and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, product teams, and business stakeholders across global locations.
