Systems Analyst – Data (Insurance Claims)
- The ideal candidate is legally authorized to work in the United States and resides within a reasonable commuting distance of Troy, Michigan, to support a hybrid schedule. ***
You will collaborate closely with software engineers, product teams, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and implement scalable technical solutions. As Public Risk Group continues its investment in cloud technologies and platform modernization, you will gain hands-on experience with modern data practices while contributing to the development of enterprise data capabilities.
This role offers an excellent opportunity to grow your technical skills through mentoring, challenging projects, and exposure to cloud-native architectures, APIs, data integrations, and large-scale insurance data.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior engineers and business stakeholders in understanding data requirements and supporting data integrations.
- Develop familiarity with insurance data, business processes, and systems through project work and mentoring.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including daily standups, backlog refinement and sprint planning.
- Support the development, testing and maintenance of data pipelines, ETL processes and data integrations.
- Assist in troubleshooting data quality issues and identifying root causes of data discrepancies.
- Support data validation, reconciliation, and monitoring activities to ensure high quality data.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business or a related field or the equivalent education and/or experience
- 1-3 years of relevant and progressive professional experience in software development and support.
- Insurance industry experience desired.
- Exposure to NoSQL databases such as Mongo is plus.
- Basic understanding of data modeling and data quality principles.
- Understanding of ETL concepts, API’s and data integrations.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Exceptional organizational and analytical skills; demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to learn new technologies and adapt to changing technical requirements
- Intermediate proficiency and experience using Microsoft Office package (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word)
