Contract: 12 months + potential extension
Location: Dublin | Region: EMEA
Our client is a global payments and fintech organization looking for a Senior Data Warehouse Architect to join its growing Data Solutions team.
This is a hands-on architecture and data engineering role. You will design scalable data warehouse solutions while also getting involved in the development, implementation and optimization of modern data platforms using Snowflake, dbt, Databricks and AWS.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver scalable enterprise data warehouse and ELT architectures.
- Be hands-on with Snowflake, dbt, SQL and Databricks development and optimisation.
- Build and optimise data pipelines, transformations and data models.
- Develop data models using Kimball, Inmon and/or Data Vault methodologies.
- Work across AWS data services including S3, EMR/PySpark, Lambda and MWAA.
- Apply strong database and data engineering principles to architecture and implementation.
- Troubleshoot production issues and carry out performance tuning and optimisation.
- Improve data quality, governance, security, lineage and observability.
- Work closely with Data Engineering, Analytics and Platform teams to establish data architecture standards and best practices.
- Translate business and technical requirements into scalable, maintainable data solutions.
Key Requirements
- 3+ years of hands-on Snowflake and dbt experience.
- 6+ years of experience across Data Engineering, Data Warehousing or Data Architecture.
- 4+ years of experience in Data Architecture / Data Warehouse Architecture, with strong hands-on data engineering experience.
- 2+ years of AWS experience, ideally working with AWS data services.
- Strong SQL, ELT and data transformation experience.
- Hands-on experience with Databricks and modern data engineering platforms.
- Strong understanding of database concepts, data warehouse design and data modelling.
- Experience with Kimball, Inmon and/or Data Vault.
- Strong experience with performance tuning and production troubleshooting.
- Able to operate effectively at both architectural and hands-on engineering levels.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work on-site in Dublin as required.
