Essential Functions & Responsibilities
Database Development & Administration
- Develop complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, triggers, and views to support applications and reporting needs.
- Administer SQL Server databases, including performance tuning, backup/recovery, security configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimization strategies.
- Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
- Develop and maintain database schemas, tables, indexes, and data dictionaries.
- Design and maintain ETL processes for data integration, transformation, and automation using SSIS or related tools.
- Assist in writing applications and interfaces that interact with SQL databases.
- Utilize Microsoft Fabric for data management, analytics, and integration tasks as appropriate.
- Develop and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards, ensuring accuracy, usability, and visualization best practices.
- Conduct data analysis and develop standardized management reporting tools.
- Produce reports and analyze large datasets for management and special projects.
- Collaborate with business users, analysts, and departmental teams to understand data requirements and deliver effective solutions.
- Resolve data or reporting issues in partnership with functional teams.
- Develop and implement technical standards and best practices for database design, development, and reporting.
- Document database structures, ETL processes, reporting logic, and operational procedures.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices in SQL development, Power BI, and Microsoft Fabric.
- Develop and deploy process improvements that enhance data quality, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency.
- Perform all other duties assigned by the Supervisor.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Science, or related field
- 3–5 years of experience with SQL Server
- 1–2 years working with SSRS and SSIS
- Familiarity with BI technologies
- Strong analytical skills and a business mindset
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multi‑task
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Self‑motivated with the ability to work quickly and independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to utilize equipment including but not limited to: telephone, computer, designated software, MS Word, Excel, printers, calculators, fax machines, and other pharmacy-related equipment
- Ability to walk, stand, sit, and reach on a frequent basis
- 0% travel required
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
