Work you'll do
As a Data Engineer III on the GPS Engineering as a Service team, you will be responsible for delivering Appian-based business process solutions that support mission objectives.
- Lead migration of data from legacy system into the relational database supporting a new Appian application.
- Own source-to-target mapping, migration strategy, ETL coordination, reconciliation, validation, and cutover support across the full migration lifecycle.
- Partner with architects, Appian developers, analysts, and business SMEs to ensure data quality, completeness, and alignment to the evolving target-state data model.
- Participate in Agile delivery activities, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, and release support.
- Apply Appian development standards, reusable components, and performance practices to support maintainability and technical quality.

Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree
- Active Public Trust security clearance
- Must be MarkLogic Certified or able to obtain MarkLogic Certification.
- 5+ years of experience data migration leadership
- 3+ years of experience developing detailed source-to-target mappings for data integration and migration initiatives.
- 3+ years of experience with strong hands-on experience with PL/SQL development, including complex queries, stored procedures, functions, and packages.
- 3+ years of experience performing data validation, reconciliation, and defect resolution to ensure data accuracy and completeness.
- 1+ years of experience delivering solutions in Agile/Scrum environments, including sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Ability to travel 0-25%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
- Proficiency designing, developing, testing, and executing ETL processes.
- Experience with Appian or low-code platform migrations
- Experience with SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or similar relational databases
- Familiarity with data profiling, cleansing, and cutover planning
- Strong documentation and stakeholder communication skills
- Familiarity with Product Lifecycle Management software
