Responsibilities
- Build and maintain data pipelines and data products and solutions using Python, SQL and modern cloud data platforms and technologies
- Develop, test and troubleshoot data ingestion, transformations and workflows
- Apply software engineering practices including Git, testing, and CI/CD
- Leverage AI-assisted engineering tools to improve development and testing productivity
- Collaborate with experienced engineers, take ownership, adapt and learn quickly and deliver solutions that directly support our data and other stakeholders
- 0-2 years of experience in data engineering, software engineering
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, Data Science or a related technical field
- Excellent Python programming skills and a reasonable knowledge of SQL
- Strong software engineering and problem-solving skills and one who is curious, takes the initiative and a quick learner
- Willing to embrace the pace, ambiguity and challenges of a startup environment
- Has completed one or more internships, research or created projects in software or data engineering
- Exposure or a decent understanding of Cloud Data Platforms
- Exposure/Experience building with Spark, Airflow, dbt, Kafka or similar technologies
- Experience using AI-enabled development tools and technologies

Compensation
- Base Salary: Denver - $80,000 - $110,000, Long Beach - $85,000 - $115,000
- Equity + Benefits including Health, Dental, Vision, HRA/HSA options, PTO and paid holidays, 401K, Parental Leave
- Work Location— Long Beach, CA, or Denver, CO. While we observe a hybrid work environment, you will need to be onsite as the business needs require. Onsite requirements are subject to change, particularly when work on classified systems is required. On an average week, you can expect to spend at least 3 days per week in office.
- Work environment—the work environment; temperature, noise level, inside or outside, or other factors that will affect the person's working conditions while performing the job.
- Physical demands—the physical demands of the job, including bending, sitting, lifting and driving.
