Position Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior ETL Developer with strong Snowflake expertise to join our data engineering team in Calgary. The ideal candidate will have deep experience in ETL, data warehousing, Snowflake Data Cloud, Python, SQL, and modern data architecture, with hands-on experience implementing Medallion Architecture in production environments.

The candidate should also possess strong client-facing and communication skills and be comfortable working with enterprise data integration, CI/CD, reporting, and process orchestration technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines and enterprise data warehouse solutions.
• Develop and optimize data solutions using Snowflake Data Cloud.
• Design and implement Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers) in production environments.
• Develop data transformations using Python, SQL, and stored procedures.
• Design, develop, and maintain IDMC (Informatica Intelligent Data Management Cloud) pipelines.
• Implement data pipeline CI/CD processes using Git and Azure DevOps.
• Integrate enterprise data processes with Control-M for scheduling and process orchestration.
• Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
• Support data integration with reporting and analytics platforms including Power BI and Qlik.
• Troubleshoot performance, data quality, integration, and pipeline issues.
• Follow data engineering best practices around security, governance, performance, reliability, and maintainability.
• Communicate complex technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Contribute to data architecture, engineering standards, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in data engineering, data warehousing, and/or data architecture.
• 4+ years of hands-on experience with Snowflake Data Cloud.
• Proven production experience designing and implementing Medallion Architecture.
• Strong hands-on expertise in:
• ETL/ELT
• Snowflake
• Python
• SQL
• Stored Procedures
• Strong experience developing and building IDMC pipelines.
• Experience implementing CI/CD for data pipelines using Git and Azure DevOps.
• Experience with Control-M for enterprise process orchestration.
• Familiarity with Power BI and Qlik.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and client-facing skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in the railway/transportation industry.
• Understanding of railway operational data and business processes.
• Experience working in large enterprise data environments.
• Knowledge of modern cloud data architecture and data engineering best practices.
