Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain data pipelines to ensure the reliable flow of information between systems.
- Automate data validation checks to catch errors before it reaches the end user.
- Design and document data models that represent the underlying logic of our databases and APIs.
- Implement automated alerting and monitoring to track pipeline health and data freshness.
- Debug and optimize data transformations to improve processing speed and system performance.
- Collaborate with developers and analysts to translate business requirements into technical data strategies.
- Integrate new data sources into existing infrastructure using code-based components.
- Maintain data security and privacy by automating access controls and sensitive data masking.
- Provide recommendations for improvements in the overall data architecture and collection process.
- Stay current with data engineering techniques and tools to help the team scale efficiently.
- At least two years experience in software development.
- Undergraduate degree in Computer Science (or equivalent).
- Experience with modern Javascript (server-side javascript, package management, module loading).
- Experience with R
- Experience with REST APIs
- Strong experience writing & understanding complex SQL queries
- Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to other technical staff members.
- Superior time management skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks with minimal supervision.
- High level of critical and logical thinking, analysis, and/or reasoning to identify underlying principles, reasons, or facts.
