Title: Data Engineer

Location: Buffalo, NY - Hybrid

Salary: $90,000 – $125,000 +Bonus

Responsibilities

  • Design, model, and implement scalable data storage structures and data platform components for structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data, supporting transactional workloads, enterprise reporting, analytics, and hybrid cloud data solutions
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines supporting integrations, migrations, and reporting
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define data requirements across operational, financial, and customer domains
  • Develop and optimize ETL/ELT processes to ensure data reliability, accuracy, and timeliness
  • Implement data quality checks, monitoring, and reconciliation processes to support compliance and audit readiness
  • Support reporting and analytics initiatives by creating trusted and consumable datasets
  • Document data flows, mappings, and technical designs for maintainability and transparency
  • Partner with internal teams and external vendors to align solutions with enterprise standards and best practices


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in data engineering, integration, or analytics roles
  • Strong experience in data modeling and architecture across relational and NoSQL databases
  • Advanced SQL skills and experience working with large-scale data environments
  • Experience supporting enterprise systems (ERP, CRM, billing, or asset management platforms)
  • Experience working with cloud-based systems and hybrid architectures


Preferred Experience/Learning Opportunities

  • Experience supporting large-scale system implementations or data platform transitions
  • Familiarity with modern cloud data and integration platforms
  • Background in regulated industries (e.g., energy, utilities, financial services)
  • Strong communication, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills
