Technical Lead and Senior Developer – Dental Software
Indexed description
Service Well is a Swedish health-tech company based in Lund. We develop software and integration solutions that help healthcare and dental organisations connect systems, use data more effectively and create better digital services.
Our work combines software development, interoperability and deep domain knowledge. We specialise in open healthcare standards such as FHIR and work with customers and partners across the Nordic healthcare and dental markets.
Within dentistry, our principal product is Dental Connect: a vendor-independent platform that connects dental practice-management systems and enables shared services across clinics, systems and dental groups. It provides a common foundation for integrations, data access and services such as online booking, business intelligence, customer communication and operational planning.
Service Well is a small, experienced team in which developers work closely with customers, users and decision-makers. We are moving from primarily consultancy-based delivery towards a stronger product and recurring-revenue business. The person joining us will therefore have a genuine opportunity to influence our products, technology and future direction.
About the roleWe are looking for an experienced software developer with extensive knowledge of the dental domain to take technical leadership of Dental Connect.
This is a combined technical leadership and hands-on development role. You will help define the architecture and technical direction of Dental Connect while continuing to design, develop and improve the platform together with the rest of the team.
You will work across product development and customer delivery. This includes developing reusable Dental Connect capabilities as well as contributing to projects for dental groups and software partners.
A central part of the role is understanding how dental organisations and practice-management systems operate. You will translate clinical, operational and commercial requirements into sustainable technical solutions and help Service Well balance immediate customer needs with the long-term development of a scalable product platform.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Taking technical leadership of Dental Connect and contributing to its architecture, technical roadmap and development priorities.
- Remaining actively involved in software development, integrations, testing and technical problem-solving.
- Developing and maintaining integrations with dental practice-management systems and other relevant platforms.
- Ensuring that customer-specific development contributes to a coherent, reusable and maintainable product.
- Working directly with dental groups, software vendors and other partners to understand requirements and design appropriate solutions.
- Supporting customer projects from early technical dialogue and solution design through implementation and delivery.
- Establishing and promoting sound development practices relating to architecture, code quality, documentation, testing, security and deployment.
- Guiding and supporting other developers while contributing to a collaborative and pragmatic development culture.
- Exploring how FHIR and other open standards can strengthen interoperability within Dental Connect and the wider dental ecosystem.
- Contributing to technical estimations, delivery planning and decisions concerning scope, priorities and technical risk.
The role is well suited to someone who enjoys combining strategic technical responsibility with practical development. You should be comfortable moving between product architecture, customer dialogue and hands-on implementation—and motivated by the opportunity to shape a growing health-tech platform.
