Data Engineer- Greater Tampa

The Data Engineer will assist with modernizing legacy data processes, developing Azure Data Factory (ADF) pipelines, supporting Microsoft Fabric initiatives, and monitoring the quality and reliability of enterprise data assets.
Location- Candidates must be located in the greater Tampa Bay region to be considered for this position. Tampa or Sarasota preferred with hybrid flexibility.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in data engineering, ETL development, database development, or related technical roles
- Experience with SQL Server and strong SQL development skills
- Experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF), SSIS, or similar data integration tools (hands on Fabric and Databricks experience preferred)
- Experience developing ETL/ELT processes and data transformation workflows
- Scripting experience with Python, PowerShell, or similar languages
- Understanding of relational databases and data modeling concepts
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work effectively in both independent and team environments
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric components as well as Databricks
- Familiarity with Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2 or cloud-based data platforms
- Understanding of data warehouse and lakehouse concepts
- Exposure to CI/CD practices and Azure DevOps
- Experience working in healthcare, payer, provider, or regulated environments
- Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Azure Monitor and Log Analytics
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900) or equivalent foundational cloud cert
- HDI Support Center Analyst or equivalent
- Clinical application certifications a plus.
- Develop and maintain data pipelines using Azure Data Factory (ADF), Databricks, and/or Fabric
- Support migration of legacy SSIS processes to modern cloud-based solutions
- Build and maintain reusable ELT processes for data ingestion and transformation
- Integrate data from operational systems, applications, APIs, and third-party vendors
- Support data loading processes into data lake, warehouse, and reporting environments
- Monitor scheduled data pipelines and troubleshoot execution failures
- Respond to data-related incidents and support operational data processes
- Assist with root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions
- Work with Data Operations teams to ensure reliable and timely data delivery
- Participate in production support and on-call activities as assigned
- Implement data validation and reconciliation processes within pipelines
- Monitor data quality, completeness, and accuracy across source and target systems
- Investigate data anomalies and partner with business users to resolve issues
- Support testing and validation efforts for new data integrations and enhancements
- Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and database objects
- Support database performance tuning efforts and indexing strategies
- Assist with database maintenance and data management activities
- Follow established security, compliance, and data governance standards
- Maintain technical documentation for data pipelines, workflows, and integrations
- Document data mappings, transformation logic, and operational procedures
- Follow development standards, coding conventions, and deployment processes
- Identify opportunities to improve data processing efficiency and reliability
