They are looking for an experienced Data Consultant for an initial 3-month contract to support the delivery of key data and analytics initiatives. Working within a collaborative, customer-focused environment, you will help design and build modern data solutions that enable actionable insights and drive business outcomes.
This role offers the opportunity to work alongside data engineers, software developers, analysts, and business stakeholders on a range of exciting data transformation projects.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Design and develop modern data platforms, data lakes, and scalable data architectures
  • Build and maintain robust data ingestion, integration, and transformation solutions
  • Develop and operationalise reliable ETL/ELT pipelines using modern data engineering practices
  • Work with large and complex datasets from multiple sources
  • Deliver analytics-ready datasets that support reporting, insights, and decision-making
  • Improve data quality, reliability, performance, and operational efficiency
  • Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable solutions
  • Support infrastructure, automation, and deployment activities within cloud-based environments

Ngā uara me ngā pūkenga e angitu ai koe | What you'll need to succeed

  • Proven experience designing and delivering data solutions using Databricks
  • Strong hands-on experience developing and deploying data pipelines into production environments
  • Experience with DBT, Coalesce, or similar data transformation tools
  • Strong programming skills in Python and exposure to languages such as Java, Scala, C#, or C++
  • Experience working with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP
  • Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases and modern data warehousing concepts

Highly desirable:

  • Experience with modern data warehousing and modelling methodologies (Kimball, Data Vault)
  • Exposure to Snowflake environments and cloud data platforms
  • Knowledge of DataOps and DevOps practices
  • Experience working within analytics, machine learning, or advanced data environments
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and consulting skills

Duration: 3-month contract
Location - Auckland/ Wellington/ Christchurch (Must be able to work from office 3 days a week)
Availability - Must be able to start ASAP
