This role offers the opportunity to work alongside data engineers, software developers, analysts, and business stakeholders on a range of exciting data transformation projects.
What You'll Be Doing
- Design and develop modern data platforms, data lakes, and scalable data architectures
- Build and maintain robust data ingestion, integration, and transformation solutions
- Develop and operationalise reliable ETL/ELT pipelines using modern data engineering practices
- Work with large and complex datasets from multiple sources
- Deliver analytics-ready datasets that support reporting, insights, and decision-making
- Improve data quality, reliability, performance, and operational efficiency
- Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable solutions
- Support infrastructure, automation, and deployment activities within cloud-based environments
Ngā uara me ngā pūkenga e angitu ai koe | What you'll need to succeed
- Proven experience designing and delivering data solutions using Databricks
- Strong hands-on experience developing and deploying data pipelines into production environments
- Experience with DBT, Coalesce, or similar data transformation tools
- Strong programming skills in Python and exposure to languages such as Java, Scala, C#, or C++
- Experience working with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP
- Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases and modern data warehousing concepts
Highly desirable:
- Experience with modern data warehousing and modelling methodologies (Kimball, Data Vault)
- Exposure to Snowflake environments and cloud data platforms
- Knowledge of DataOps and DevOps practices
- Experience working within analytics, machine learning, or advanced data environments
- Strong stakeholder engagement and consulting skills
Duration: 3-month contract
Location - Auckland/ Wellington/ Christchurch (Must be able to work from office 3 days a week)
Availability - Must be able to start ASAP
