Why This Role Matters
Every customer's move to our platforms starts with their data arriving safely and accurately in its new home. As a Data Conversion Engineer, you'll be the person who makes that transition seamless, protecting the trust customers place in us during one of the most critical moments in their relationship with IDEXX, while helping build the automated conversion framework that will scale with our growing customer base.
In This Role
- You'll lead full lifecycle data conversion projects, from initial planning through go live, making sure each client's data is migrated accurately and on schedule
- You'll partner with implementation consultants, project managers, and technical specialists to align conversion timelines with each client's onboarding journey
- When working with clients, you'll communicate clearly and proactively, keeping stakeholders informed at every stage of a conversion
- Your day-to-day will include running sales data checks, executing trial conversions, and identifying and fixing data issues before they reach production
- You'll help grow and refine our conversion framework and tooling, working toward a more automated, scalable process
- You've mentored, or are ready to mentor, junior onboarding engineers as they build toward intermediate-level skills
- You're comfortable managing competing priorities, and occasionally adjusting your schedule to support a client's go-live outside standard hours
- You'll document your work clearly, building process documentation that helps the wider team
- Experience with multiple programming languages and solid back-end development skills (Python, PHP)
- A genuine interest in data, data structures, and databases, and how they move between systems
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to work directly with clients and internal teams
- The ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines with strong attention to detail
- Accurate & clear technical documentation
- Exposure to AWS, cloud infrastructure, or CI/CD pipelines
- Experience mentoring or supervising junior team members
- Exposure to data conversion or migration frameworks
