Senior Java Developer – Energy Industry – Leipzig – up to €80k

We're partnering with an innovative software company developing high-performance systems that support the transition to renewable energy through automated trading technology.

They're looking for a Senior Java Developer to join an engineering team building the services and data pipelines behind a real-time trading platform used across multiple European energy markets.

This is a role for engineers who enjoy solving complex backend challenges rather than simply building REST APIs.

What you'll be working on

• Designing and developing backend services with Java and Spring Boot
• Building reliable, scalable data processing pipelines for real-time systems
• Developing integrations with external platforms and market operators
• Improving platform performance, resilience and maintainability
• Writing high-quality unit and integration tests
• Participating in code reviews and technical discussions
• Collaborating closely with product and engineering teams to shape new functionality

What they're looking for

• 5+ years of professional Java development experience
• Strong Spring Boot experience
• Experience building event-driven backend systems using Kafka, RabbitMQ or similar messaging technologies
• Good understanding of concurrency, asynchronous processing and scalable application design
• Experience with unit and integration testing
• Clean Code principles and object-oriented design
• Comfortable working with CI/CD and modern development practices
