Senior Data Engineer – Databricks (m/w/d)
About the Company:
An established German industrial group is scaling out its AI, Data & Automation function, building data platforms and AI applications that deliver measurable business value across the enterprise.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architect complex data integration solutions in close collaboration with the Enterprise Data Architect, spanning Databricks, SAP BDC, and Microsoft Fabric
- Design and build scalable enterprise data products that bring together heterogeneous data from SAP, Microsoft, and other business-critical systems
- Own the Data Layer on the group's central Databricks platform, with full accountability for performance, governance, and stability
- Lead international data integration initiatives, providing technical direction and driving standardization across regions
- Build proof-of-concepts and reusable templates, and mentor junior engineers within the team
Your Profile:
- 5–10 years of hands-on experience with SQL, database technologies, and high-performance data solutions
- Strong expertise across the Databricks ecosystem, including Delta Lake, Apache Spark, performance tuning, and cost optimization
- Solid software development skills in Python, Java, C, C++, or C#
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, ideally using GitHub Actions
- Confident communicator in international, cross-functional environments, with the ability to mentor others
Nice to Have:
- Databricks Certified Data Engineer Professional certification
- Cloud certification such as Azure Data Engineer Associate or AWS Certified Data Engineer
