Data Engineer
Indexed description
We are transforming how data powers our global fashion brands by building trusted, scalable and product-centric data solutions. As part of that journey, we are moving from legacy systems towards a modern data mesh architecture and are looking for an analytically minded Data Engineer to help us get there.
YOUR TEAM
You'll join our Ecommerce / Product Experience Team, a close-knit group of Data Engineers based at our offices in Aarhus, Denmark and Amsterdam, the Netherlands who care as much about business outcomes as they do about clean code. We sit at the heart of BESTSELLER's data transformation, working across e-commerce, product development and operations to deliver data that people and the business can rely on.
As a team, we:
- define best practices and onboard domains into our data mesh architecture
- partner with business stakeholders to turn opportunities and challenges into reliable and scalable data products
- collaborate across brands and business units to ensure data is discoverable, trustworthy and reusable
More specifically, you will:
- build and deploy data pipelines, APIs and integration services in a cloud-native environment
- implement data products, including data contracts and observability practices
- model and transform data to support analytical and operational use cases
- engage with stakeholders across business units to understand their data needs and translate them into practical solutions
- contribute to improving data quality, performance and governance while exploring technologies that strengthen our data ecosystem
You can expect:
- work with visible impact across our global fashion brands
- a trust-based team environment with autonomy, collaboration and continuous feedback
- opportunities to develop both your technical expertise and your understanding of the business
- an international setting where you'll collaborate across teams and domains
We imagine that you:
- have experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role, building production-grade data systems and backend services
- have strong analytical skills and can translate business requirements into scalable and well-designed data solutions
- have hands-on experience with modern data technologies such as AWS, GCP or Azure, Kafka, Snowflake, dbt or Airflow
- have solid skills in SQL, Python and data modelling
- have experience with API development, such as REST or GraphQL, and integration technologies such as S3, SFTP or REST
- are familiar with data mesh principles, data governance and domain-driven design
Please upload your CV as soon as possible and no later than 1 October 2026. We review applications on an ongoing basis and reserve the right to close the posting once we have found the right match.
As part of the recruitment process, candidates will complete a personality assessment, a cognitive ability test and a job-related case exercise, which will involve some individual preparation.
Location: Aarhus (DK) or Amsterdam (NL)
