Product Data Analyst
Indexed description
Spares in Motion supports wind turbine owners and operators by sourcing and supplying wind turbine spare parts, main components, and refurbishment services.
About the role:
We’re strengthening our Product team and are looking for a Product Data Analyst to join us.
This is fundamentally an analytical and structured-thinking role. You don't need prior wind-industry experience but will be required to leverage the resources we have to create a documented, stepped process for building that knowledge systematically. What you do need is the ability to think in systems and structures, work rigorously with messy data, and verify your own conclusions before trusting them, especially working with unreliable or unconfirmed data.
Job Responsibilities:
- Near term responsibilities (first 6-12 months):
- Sales Support: Partner with the Global Sales team to support complex and large sales opportunities, by cleaning and structuring the data, providing detailed analysis and guidance to Sales and Procurement, and enriching our ERP with resulting insights.
- Platform Knowledge Development: Follow our structured process for platform development, identifying relevant components, manufacturers, and possible suppliers for new wind turbine models.
- Product Data Model: Maintain and improve our spare parts product data model, which is the basis for capturing our product knowledge, and keep it accurate and up to date as new data is added.
What you’ll grow into (6-12 months onward):
- Supply Chain Optimization and Go-to-Market Strategy: Work closely with the Procurement department, providing technical expertise to develop new supplier networks and ensure availability and competitiveness, and continuously develop our Go-to-Market strategy for the Spare Parts business line, working in collaboration with Sales, Procurement, and Marketing.
- Market Intelligence: Monitor the wind aftermarket landscape to identify emerging needs for newer fleets and translate these into development, procurement, and sales actions.
- Technical Expertise: Act as the subject matter expert for both internal teams and external clients regarding components, systems, and turbine technology.
Job Requirements:
Must-have:
- Strong analytical and structured/systems thinking skills. The candidate must be able to design a classification logic or a data model, not just apply the one we currently have.
- Advanced Excel skills (complex formulas, Pivot Tables, data modeling), since a considerable portion of the time is spent working with large datasets to provide analysis and insights that can be leveraged by the organization.
- A natural skepticism and verify-before-you-trust instinct, to question any information, data, and conclusions provided by internal or external parties, before incorporating it in the Product Data Model or using it to make important decisions.
- Work Ethic: An entrepreneurial spirit who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes full ownership of the complete portfolio of spare parts and components.
- Global Mindset: Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse, international sales and procurement team.
Strong plus:
- SQL and/or Python (pandas, automation/scripting)
- Prior exposure to wind energy, industrial components, or technical/engineering products — genuine curiosity about how physical parts and systems work matters more to us than years of prior experience in the sector.
You might be a particularly strong fit if your background includes:
- Master data/Product information management (PIM): cleaning, de-duplicating, and standardizing product catalogs across systems, reconciling variant SKUs, and building classification hierarchies.
- Analytics in an aftermarket or industrial-distribution business (auto parts, aerospace MRO, electronic components, industrial equipment): pricing analysis, supplier cross-referencing, or tender/quote support.
- An analytical, data-oriented start to an engineering career: 1-3 years into a mechanical/industrial/systems-engineering path, working in ops-analytics or data rather than design, with demonstrated comfort in structured problem-solving.
If you are a driven professional ready to seize this exciting opportunity and contribute significantly to the growth of the renewable energy sector, we encourage you to apply.
