Databricks Engineer

DWS is seeking a Databricks Engineer to join a major Melbourne-based organisation embarking on a significant Data & AI transformation. This is an opportunity to play a key role in a greenfield Databricks environment, helping shape best practices, build scalable data solutions, and contribute to a long-term roadmap of platform and capability growth.

Salary: $165K - $190K (inc super) depending on experience

In this role, you will:

• Design, build and enhance data pipelines within the Databricks platform
• Contribute to the development of a modern cloud-based data ecosystem
• Provide technical guidance on Databricks architecture, standards and best practices
• Collaborate closely with business and technical stakeholders to deliver data-driven outcomes
• Support the evolution of Data & AI capabilities across a growing enterprise environment
• Mentor and support team members while contributing hands-on to delivery activities.

To be successful, you will have:

• Strong professional experience working with the Databricks platform
• Substantial experience designing and delivering modern data engineering solutions
• Strong understanding of data pipeline development, optimisation and operational support
• Experience working within cloud-based data environments
• The ability to influence technical direction and promote engineering best practices
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
• A collaborative, pragmatic and solutions-focused approach
• A passion for building scalable and maintainable data platforms.
